Fullness...

So a couple of months ago, I was at a small meeting with some Watch prayer leaders and we were going through Ephesian 3:16-19. We decided to go through the verses word by word and discuss our perspectives and thoughts on it. I must say, one particular part stuck out. It was verse 19 where it talks about the"fullness of God", it says
and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
That one little phrase, of course in context to the other verses in the passage, really rocked my world. Just this morning, after our Watch of the Lord set, a couple of us were chatting about a very important thing. It's a thing that we don't always value the way we need to, me in particular. It was like, I've heard about it for so long but it finally hit home in my brain. It's this little thing called "life vision". Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law
This verse is actually talking about receiving a prophetic "oracle" or "revelation" from God. I believe it applies directly to receiving a life "vision", "oracle", or "revelation" directly from the heart of God for you. Thing is, God's life vision for you is the same as it is for everyone in the human race. To some, this is comforting... but to others, this is impersonal. The "life vision" doesn't have to do, necessarily, with the journey. We all have different things to overcome and different personalities and histories. We all have different things that we contribute to the world during our time here, there's no defining that specifically and there's no devaluing that part. The thing to remember is that's just a part and a very small one in the light of eternity. God's ultimate "life vision" for each of us is the end result of our journey in this lifetime. His desire is to bring us to the place where our life vision is the same as His life vision for us. It's possible. His life vision is simply simple and yet complex. It takes the daily picking up of our cross. It takes the daily choosing His value system instead of the world's value system. The simple part: He gave us the keys to embracing this "vision" and He even came to earth Himself to reveal that it's possible. The complex part: that we have to do it His way only. It really astonishes me when I think of it. He knew and knows all that we face as frail human beings and yet He still has an amazing "life vision" for all of us. The amazing thing is that He created us and so knows the fickleness of our hearts, but He still says this particular "life vision" is doable! That encourages me. Now.... what is this life vision, you ask???? Conformity to the image of Christ Jesus. Matthew 10:25 says
"It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master."
Sometimes, as a friend of mine so aptly put it, we think that Jesus did what He did so we could do "better things" with our time. So interesting. Romans 8:29... just meditate on it for a bit. It's so good.
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

I believe very strongly that this is a very good picture of "being filled with all the fullness of God". The fullness of God, Christ made manifest in our human frame. God's "life vision" for my fullness? Conformity to Christ. Holy Spirit, make this my "life vision" for fullness please!
